Last thursday we went to Hong Kong Townhall, to hear Cambridge King's College Choir. It's a very famous choir, (half boys half grown up men) which was performing in Hong Kong and others Asian cities. Mark was at Clare which is right next to King's.
The boys attend a special King's choir school, they are real professionnal with wonderful voices. They sing like angels.The higher the voice of a young boy is, the deeper his voice will be once it brakes.
Les garcons sont eleves dans l'ecole speciale du choeur de King's college, ce sont des professionnels aux voix merveilleuses. Ils chantent comme des anges. Plus la voix d'un garcon est haute, plus elle sera grave une fois qu'il aura mue.
They sang Mozart, Schubert and Haydn, it was magnificient.Ils ont chante du Mozart, du Schubert et du Haydn c'etait magnifique.

Samedi, nous sommes alles avec King, Ping et Yan Kiu Lam (la famille de Chun Wing) au gala de l'ecole de danse de Jean Wong, la ou Chun Wing a tout appris. Il etait d'habitude la grande vedette du spectacle, mais il n'a plus le droit de danser pour ce gala depuis qu'il est eleve a l'ecole de danse de l'opera de Paris. Il aide cependant pour les repetitions, mais il ne danse pas sur scene.
On Saturday, we went with King, Ping and Yankiu Lam (Chun Wing's family) to the gala of Jean Wong school of ballet, where Chun Wing started learning ballet. He used to be the main character in the show, but now he is not allowed to perform elsewhere, once he joined Paris Opera Ballet School. However, he is useful, helping with the rehearsals, but he cannot danse on the stage.
L'ecole de Jean Wong lui a donne cette annee encore une bourse d'etudes qui le finance pour l'annee scolaire 2013-2014. L'ecole de l'Opera de Paris est gratuite pour ses eleves, sauf l'internat et la cantine, et pour Chun Wing le voyage en avion. Chun Wing est donc monte sur scene pour recevoir sa bourse, nous etions assis avec ses parents et sa soeur. et nous sentions tous tres fiers et tres heureux pour lui.

Jean Wong school of ballet granted Chun Wing another scholarship this year, (the third one) that will pay for his trip, his meals at the school and his boarding fees. The school of the opera being free for its students otherwise. Chun Wing went on the stage to receive his scholarship. We were sitting with his parents and his sister and we all felt very proud and very happy for him

Jean and Liat looked magnificent, so elegant both of them!!! Jean et Liat etaient magnifique, super elegantes toutes les deux!
I was not allowed to take photos during the performance but it was AMAZING, the quality of the show for non professionnal children was spectacular. How hard the 1000 children presents on the stage must have worked and how fantastic their achievement. The smallest children did very well, they were adorable in lovely costums, the eldest ones were really good too. There were some guest dancers from various ballets in Europ, most of whom had been former students of Jean Wong. They performed Coppelia in a charming way. The costumes were lovely. We were admirative of the global quality of the performance. Then after Coppelia we could see the Summer Classes perform and they too, were very good.
Je n'ai helas pas pu prendre de photos pendant la representation, mais c'etait INCROYABLE, la qualite du spectacle pour des amateurs etait surprenante. Les mille enfants presents sur scene ont vraiment du travailler dur pour en arriver la! et ils peuvent etre fiers du resultat! Les plus petits ont tres bien danse, ils etaient adorables dans de jolis costumes, les plus grands ont aussi ete excellents. Il y avait quelques danseurs invites, venant de differents ballets europeens, la plupart d'entre eux, etaient d'anciens eleves de jean Wong. Ils ont danse Coppelia de facon charmante. Les costumes etaient ravissants. Nous etions remplis d'admiration pour la qualite du spectacle. Apres Coppelia, les eleves du Stage d'Ete ont danse a leur tour, et eux aussi etaient excellents.
It was a lovely evening and Jean was too modest when she warned us "Don't expect too much, it's just a non professional ballet school". It was much more than that!!! Congratulations to Jean and her team!
Quelle belle soiree et comme Jean s'etait montree trop modeste quand elle nous avait dit "N'attendez pas trop du spectacle, mes jeunes eleves sont tous des amateurs". C'etait bien plus que ca!!! Bravo a Jean et a son equipe!

Vous baignez dans l'Art et les liens avec votre jeune protégé et sa famille sont de plus en plus étroits , c'est formidable !
