YEAR OF THE HORSE FESTIVITIES / FESTIVITES DE L'ANNEE DU CHEVAL

The year of the horse started on Friday 31 January 2014 with a great night parade near Victoria Harbor. We were given tickets and could attend a very colorful parade sponsored by Cathay Pacific the Hong Kong airlines, and showed live on HK television.

L'annee du Cheval commenca Vendredi 31 Janvier 2014 par une grande parade nocturne pres de Victoria Harbor (le port). Nous avions recu des billets et assistames a cette parade des plus colorees, sponsorisee par Cathay Pacific la ligne aerienne Hong Kongaise et montree en direct a la television.

There were beautiful Chinese dragons and dancers, all sort of symbols of prosperity sponsored by a bank, and Jockey Club  float.

Il y eut de beaux dragons et danseurs chinois,  toutes sortes de symboles de prosperite sponsorises par une banque, et un char du Jockey Club.

There was  an amazing cycling orchestra from Holland.

Il y eut un incroyable orchestre a velo de Hollande.

And our friend Jean Wong School of ballet'  students performed a very nice choreography.

Les eleves de l'ecole de danse de notre amie Jean Wong executerent une tres jolie choregraphie.

Then we went back home. The following day we attended the spectacular fireworks, also on Victoria Harbour. We went to an Italian Restaurant on the port where we had a nice dinner and a great view of the fireworks.

Puis nous rentrames a la maison, le lendemain nous assistames a un spectaculaire feu d'artificc, encore sur le Victoria Harbour. Nous avons bien dine dans un restaurant Italien sur le port d'ou nous avons parfaitement vu les feux d'artifice.
