MONKEY MOUNTAIN / LA MONTAGNE AUX SINGES

David and Myriam have arrived Hong Kong for Passover. Myriam is living on Sunday night and David the following Wednesday. It is good being all together in the same place for once. He is still waiting for his Australian visa.

Meanwhile we had two great Sedarim, the first one in the Aberdeen Marina Club a very elegant Yacht club in a beautiful harbor. The second at the synagogue.

David et Myriam sont arrives a Hong Kong pour Pessah. Myriam repart Dimanche soir et David le Mercredi suivant. Il attend toujours son visa Australien.

En attendant nous avons passé  deux excellents Sedarim, le premier au Marina Club d'Aberdeen, un tres elegant Yacht Club  dans un tres joli petit port, et le second a la synagogue.

Today, Friday, we went for a trip organized by the synagogue, a pic-nic at Monkey Mountain in Kowloon. We took a special bus from Robinson Road, to the National Park, where we did a short hike, then we had a barbecue organized by the synagogue staff, delicious meat and baked potatoes or "brochettes".

Aujourd'hui, nous avons fait une excursion, organisee par la synagogue, un pique-nique a la Montagne aux Singes, a Kowloon. Nous primes un bus special affrete par la synagogue depuis Robinson Road jusqu'au parc national ou nous fimes une courte promenade puis un barbecue organise par le personnel de la synagogue, de la viande delicieuse ainsi que des brochettes et des pommes de terre en robe des champs.

There are wild monkeys all over, they are not aggressive unless you feed or scare them. They stayed at bay during our barbecue but once we had thrown our trash in the dustbins, they went to fetch them and tore the bags apart to find the remaining food.

 

They tried the Matzot (traditional Passover unlevened bread).

Il y a partout des singes sauvages, qui ne sont pas agressifs sauf si on les nourrit ou si on les effraye. Ils resterent a distance pendant notre barbecue, mais une fois que nous avions jete nos restes de repas dans les poubelles, ils s'empresserent de les fouiller en dechirant les sacs pour trouver de la nourriture. Ils gouterent les Matzot (Pain non leve traditionnel pour la Paques juive).      

Monkey Mountain is a lovely family walk, which I highly recommend, just beware not to upset or frighten the monkey and they remain very friendly.

Je recommande la Montagne aux Singes comme promenade familiale, il suffit de ne pas enerver ni effrayer les singes et ils demeurent amicaux et sans danger.
