2 KNOWN AND 2 UNKNOWN FRUITS / 2 FRUITS CONNUS ET 2 INCONNUS

In Tai Po market, fruits were very cheap. I bought 5 guavas for 10HK$ (1Euro) and a few mini mangos for the same price.

Au marche de Tai Po, les fruits etaient tres bon marche, j'ai achete 5 goyaves pour 10HK$ (1Euro) et quelques mini-mangues pour le meme prix..

I love guavas, they smell beautifully and have a strange sour and sweet taste. They add a flavor to fruit salads (cut in small pieces) and also to lettuce like salads (grated like thread).

                                      

J'adore les Goyaves, elles sentent tres fort et tres bon et elles ont un drole de gout sucre-acidule. Elles ajoutent une note differente aux salades de fruits  (coupees en morceaux) ainsi qu'aux salades genre laitues (rapees).

I also bought 2 unknown fruits the name of which I could not find on internet.

                           

J'ai aussi achete 2 fruits inconnus dont je n'ai pas reussi a trouver le nom sur internet.

En jaune a gauche une petite goyave, en vert en haut a droite un inconnu, en orange en bas, autre inconnu.

On the left the yellow fruit is a small guava, in green top right, an unknown fruit, the yellow one bottom is also unknown.

Voila a quoi ils ressemblent une fois coupes en deux :

Once cut in two, they look like this .(see above)

Their stones are like this: the guava (left) has lots of tiny edible pips, the orange fruit (middle) has an oval big stone so stuck into the flesh that it was difficult to cut this fruit in two parts. It was very sweet and lovely, tasting like a ripe soft rather sour plum. The green fruit (right) has an oval stone that looks like peaches stone. It has a white, crunchy, pear-like flesh not very sweet, not tasting much either, but pleasant. 

Voila a quoi ressemblent leurs noyaux. La goyave a gauche a de tout petits pepins ronds comestibles, le fruit orange au centre a un grand noyau si imbrique avec la chair qu'il est difficile de couper le fruit en deux. Il a un gout tres sucre et agreable de prune tres mure assez acidulee. Le fruit vert a droite, a un noyau qui ressemble aux noyaux de peche avec des rainures, il a un gout de poire croquante peu sucree mais plaisante.

It was the first time I saw those 2 fruits, and I could not find the green and the orange fruits' name  on the Internet. Our Tai Po friend did not know them either. I keep investigating and will let you know when I find the answer!!!

C'est la premiere fois que je voyais ces fruits, et je n'ai pas trouve leur nom sur internet, notre amie de Tai Po ne les connaissait pas non plus. Je continue mes recherches et vous dirai le resultat quand j'aurai trouve!!!
