After our ride in the balloon, we came back to our hotel to have a shower, and a second breakfast. Our hotel had a swimming-pool facing pagodas, and a beautiful garden.
At the bottom behind the pool was a long pond with lotus.
Then our guide arrived and we went out with him for the day. First, he took us to see one more pagoda less famous, but with beautiful sculptures and statues, according to him...
He was right! He wanted to show us a market, not a touristic one, a market for real peoples, away from the center. On our way, we met student marching to Yangoon to demonstrate against the attempt of their government to make students pay a fee for studying. They wanted "Free education".
We went to a village called Pakkoku and saw it's market. The sight + the smell told us it was not for tourists but for Myanmar people. It was colorful, with lots of vegetables, fruits and clothes too.
Then we went to a house where the women of the family were weaving coton and I looked for table clothes. I found one I liked and they cut it from the weaver at the exact size I needed.
We had lunch in the village, then we visited still in Pakokku the Alai Teik monastery where many young monks were studying Buddhist texts.
