THE YEAR OF THE GOAT / L'ANNEE DE LA CHEVRE

Some of the Chinese zodiac animals are more popular than others. The Goat (or ram or sheep) does not seem so popular. Before we quited the Year of the Horse, many women decided to give birth so that their child would not be born on the year of the goat. The hospitals were very busy.

Certains animaux du zodiac Chinois sont plus populaires que d'autres. La Chevre (ou belier ou mouton) ne semble pas tres populaire. Avant que nous ne quittions l'annee du Cheval, beauocup de femmes firent declencher leur accouchement pour que leur bebe ne naisse pas pendant l'annee de la Chevre. Les hopitaux etaient tres occupes.

We will start this year with a visit to Cambodia. We will spend 4 days in Angkor and I am reading a book, that Mark bought, about what is currently known of the old cities around Siem Reap and their builder kings and civilizations are fascinating. There is obviously an Indian influence, mixed with Buddhism but also with Khmer own style and culture.We are leaving on Monday early morning, when I come back I'll have a lot of things to tell you!

Nous entamons l'annee de la Chevre avec un voyahe au Cambodge. Nous allons passer 4 jours a Angkor. Je suis entrain de lire un livre achete par Mark, sur les connaissances actuelles sur les vieilles cites qui entourent Siem Reap et leur rois batisseurs ainsi que leurs civilisations sont fascinantes. Il y a visiblement une influence Indienne, melee de Boudhisme mais aussi de style et de culture purement Khmer. Nous partons tres tot Lundi, j'aurai beaucoup de choses a vous raconter au retour!
