LAST DAY IN JAVA / DERNIER JOUR A JAVA

For our last day in Java, we visited the Kraton or Palace of the Sultan in Yogyakarta. There is still a sultan who is the 10th sultan of his family and he remains influential, a sort of regional governor. When the nearby volcano erupted few years ago, the villagers had to run away from their villages and went for shelter on the Palace big square where the sultan kept them as long as necessary and provided them with tents and food.

Pour notre dernier jour a Java, nous visitames le Kraton ou Palais du Sultan de Yogyakarta. Il y a encore un sultan qui est le 10e de sa lignee et qui reste influent, une sorte de gouverneur regional. Quand le volcan voisin entra en eruption, il y a quelques annees, les villageons durent quitter precipitament leurs villages et se refugierent sur la grand'place du Palais ou le sultan les garda aussi longtemps que necessaire et leur fournit des tentes et de la nourriture.

I really like this architecture not too ornated.   

J'aime beauocup cette architecture pas trop orneee.

Not far from the Palace was the Water Castle (Taman Sari) built in 1758 as an elaborate retreat for the sultan with tunnels and many bathing pools and a tropical gardens. The long tunnels were built to allow the Sultan to flee in case of problem with the Dutch authorities.

 

Non loin du Palais se trouvait le Chateau d'Eau (Taman Sari) construit en 1758 comme une confortable et complexe retraite pour le sultan avec des tunnels et de nombreuses piscines ainsi que des jardins tropicaux . Les longs tunnels furent batis pour permettre au Sultan de s'enfuir en cas de probleme avec les autorites Hollandaises.

Then around 3 in the afternoon, we had lunch in a lovely restaurant with a beautiful patio and garden, and did some shopping. I found a  few dresses which I really like, and some presents to bring back in Hong Kong. In the evening, we headed to the airport to go back to Hong Kong.

Puis vers 3h de l'apres-midi nous dejeunames dans un joli restaurant avec un patio et un joli jardin puis nous fimes un peu de courses. Je trouvais quelques robes que j'aime vraiment bien, et quelques cadeaux pour rapporter a Hong Kong. Le soir, nous nous dirigeames vers l'aeroport pour rentrer a Hong Kong.
